Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026. This policy applies to the website wimmelkobel.com and to the app Wimmelkobel (Android).
1. Controller
Marco Desiderio (BEng.), Cookobel · Dienstleistungen rund um das Internet und Werbung, Niethammerstr. 13, 74189 Weinsberg, Germany · Email: madex@madex.biz
2. In short
- The app collects no data about your child or you. There is no account, and the app sends nothing to us.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics services, neither in the app nor on the website. The website sets no cookies.
- Purchases go through Google Play. We receive no payment details.
3. This website
The website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, acting as our processor. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary data (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to deliver the page and keep operations secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files store the IP address only in shortened form. Fonts and images are on the same server; no third-party content is embedded.
4. Contact
If you write to us by email or through the contact form, we process your email address, the optional name and the message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The form sends the details to us by email and stores nothing on the website. We delete messages once the matter is settled, unless a legal retention duty applies. This contact route is for adults.
5. The Wimmelkobel app
5.1 What stays on the device
The app stores the playtime used, the settings (language, read-aloud, daily playtime) and which pictures are unlocked only in the device's private app storage. None of this leaves the device. Automatic Android backup to the Google account is switched off for Wimmelkobel, and Android does not copy the app's data when moving to a new device either. If you delete the app or its data, everything is gone; purchases come back from Google Play with “Restore purchases”.
5.2 Read-aloud
Read-aloud is off by default. If you switch it on, the app passes the text of the speech bubbles to your Android device's text-to-speech. These are fixed texts of the app, not details about your child. The terms of the text-to-speech provider apply.
5.3 Purchases through Google Play
You buy pictures in the parents' area through Google Play; Google handles payment, invoicing and refunds under its own privacy policy. We receive no payment details. To check a purchase, the app uses the purchase data signed by Google (product, order number, purchase token, time) on the device and does not send it to us. In the Play Console we see orders as Google shows them (order number, product, price, country). The legal basis is the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
5.4 Permissions
The app only asks for internet access and Google Play's purchase permission, both solely for buying. It also asks Google Play on the device whether a new version is available; this does not reach us. It does not use location, camera, microphone, contacts or the advertising ID. Privacy, legal notice and contact open in the device's browser, and only from the parents' area.
5.5 Statistics from Google Play
In the Play Console, Google gives us aggregated figures (such as installs and ratings) and crash reports from devices where sharing diagnostic data is allowed. We cannot identify individuals from them. Google processes this under its own responsibility.
6. Children
Wimmelkobel is made for children; settings and purchases are for adults. Because the app collects no data, children do not reveal anything about themselves there. Purchases, links to the outside and settings sit behind a parental gate, the app shows no ads and has no features for children to contact anyone outside. Purchases through Google Play require a Google account, for which Google has its own age rules.
7. Recipients
- ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Germany: website hosting (processing on our behalf).
- Google: Google Play (sale, payment, refunds, statistics), under Google's terms.
8. How long we keep data
- Server log files: according to the host's periods, IP address shortened.
- Messages to us: until the matter is settled, unless a retention duty applies.
- In the app: until you delete it or its data.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Email us for this. Because we store no names or email addresses from the app, we can only match data if you tell us something that identifies it, such as the order number of a purchase (Art. 11 GDPR).
You can also complain to a data protection authority; the one responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
10. Changes
If the way Wimmelkobel handles data changes, we will update this policy. The version with the latest date at the top of this page applies.
